Remi "Bam Bam" Morvan

Remi has been training at the Ottawa Academy of Martial Arts since 2005. Through his training Remi has traveled all over North America to compete, he has won over 9 gold medals in high-level Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournaments such as 3x Grapplers Quest gold medalist, 4x NAGA gold medalist and the Renzo Gracie Invitational gold medalist while also competing at the World Championship. Remi has had the privilege of training with a large number of the Gracie family including Igor, Gregor and Roger as well as attending multiple seminars by BJJ notables such as Renzo Gracie, Roger Gracie, John Danaher, Rolles Gracie, Gregor Gracie, Igor Gracie and Shawn Williams only to name a few.

Remi was awarded his blue belt after only 12 months of training, the fastest ever awarded here at the academy! One short month after receiving his blue belt he had his first MMA fight on the Island of Guam. Since then he has fought all over Canada and built himself an impressive record of 6 wins and 1 loss with 5 wins via submission.
After his fight in March of 2009, which he won by guillotine in the 1st round, Remi was awarded his purple belt by Pat Cooligan.

Many people outside the school don’t know that Remi has also been training Muay Thai Kickboxing at OAMA for close to four years. Remi has an amateur Muay Thai record of 1-0. Remi is training nearly every day to make himself as complete of a fighter as he can.
